What is a traditional Moroccan wedding like?
A Moroccan Wedding is a magical celebration full of traditions. It starts with the "Hammam Day" where the bride and her female friends and family members go to a traditional Moroccan Hammam (Spa) and prepare the bride and themselves for the wedding. Followed by the "Henna night" where the bride is decorated with henna designs for good luck. On the wedding day, the bride wears traditional Moroccan dresses called caftans, often several throughout the night, and the groom wears a djellaba. There’s a special entrance called the Zeffa, with music and dancing. The wedding usually begins around 8pm, with the bride and groom entering around 11pm, and goes well into the early hours of the morning.
What's kind of food is served at a Moroccan Wedding?
The food is traditional Moroccan food like lamb or chicken tagine, couscous, and pastilla not buffet style, but large shared platters full of flavor.
What should I wear to a Moroccan Wedding?
Women should wear a caftan or an elegant long dress, with gold or silver jewelry. Their hair can be styled to match their dress beautifully elegant and graceful. Men should either wear a djellaba, jabador, or if they would be more comfortable in western attire they would wear a tuxedo. Will there be an open bar at the wedding?
A Moroccan wedding is a Muslim wedding, and alcohol is forbidden under Islamic law. So, not only will there not be an open bar but this wedding will be a dry event. There will be plenty of Moroccan Mint tea and coffee, as well as Moroccan sweets and delicious Moroccan food!
What language do they speak in Morocco?
In Morocco, they speak a dialect of Arabic called Darija. They also use traditional Arabic, French, and Tamazight (the traditional Berber language).

While Morocco can get extremely hot, Agadir actually has a very temperate climate. In July, the average temperature is around 79 degrees. With highs reaching about 86 and lows reaching around 64. July is the driest month in Agadir, so it would be safe to plan on it being very dry with no rain. There's an average of 12-13 hours of sunlight with a very high UV level. There's moderate humidity with an average of 67% with a gentle sea breeze coming off of the coast.

Simply put no. Morocco does not put restrictions on women to wear a hijab. Just because this is a Muslim wedding, no one is required to participate in a faith they don't belong to. We simply ask you to come and participate in our love as you are.
